I’m sure you’ve felt it before. I certainly have.

It’s when you’re meaning to create…except it feels like striving.

Like you’re forcing it. You try to create, but what comes out doesn’t feel inspired or fresh.

It all started years ago with a dream.

No, not the metaphorical kind. The literal kind. I woke up one morning and had this killer dream the night before, and thought, “This would make a good idea for a story”.

A fantasy world. A corrupt queen. Ancient ruins that had significance. Prisoners recruited to explore said ruins.

And a girl who could breathe fire.
